Appearance
Large Gorilla like humanoids with dark skin, hair and eyes. Males are slightly larger than females. Unlike Gorillas, Ogres stand upright and have thick muscled limbs. They have broad shoulders and elongated arms. Their heads are oversized for their bodies with a face that is broad with a heavy brow. A protruding lower jaw displays exposed canine teeth. There is thick and coarse over their entire body save for the face, hands and feet.
Attitude
Ogres are militaristic and follow a strict set of laws that deal with every aspect of life. Deviation is not tolerated. From a young age Ogre young are observed and tested to see how best they can serve the people as a whole. Those that show a talent for combat, arcane or devote studies, stealth, and more are removed from the general population and are assigned to schools. This often separates the young from their parents in the hopes of serving the bonds that can form and are considered a weakness that impedes greatness. Those that fail to show any signs of great potential are left with their families which is seen as a mark against the family. Continued failure to produce better offspring results in a lowered social status and possible exile of the entire family. For those that remain status is highly dependent on their quality and number of their offspring.
Architecture
Ogre buildings are a study in modest but sturdy construction. Homes are square and uniform in design with minor structural embellishments depending on status. Work building are purpose built but efficient as are many other buildings.
Leadership
Often Ogres are lead by a council that ensures rules and culture is enforced. Deviation is warned against at first, but continued offense can result in exile, prison or even resulting in slavery. For those that showed promise and talent worth training will often fill the void on the council when a vacancy opens. Others will be paired to a mate of equal status with the hopes of generating an even greater generation of Ogres. It is possible though for an Ogre through unparallelled skill in combat and over coming great adversity to become the ruler of the Ogres. A position in which the council serves the will of the ruler. At least until his passing. An Ogress is just as likely to become a ruler as a male.
Noble Dress
As per their class dress but of finer quality.
Devotes Dress
Breastplate, pants and a tabard marking their faith and rank.
Arcanist Dress
Black robes and staff that holds a disk at the top showing arcane school and rank.
Combatant Dress
Armor is earned in combat and service. The type of armor is dependent on the type of unit the person served in. Lighter armor for scouts heavy armor for soldiers. The quality and number of chest button mark rank.
Merchant Dress
As per commoners but a vest is worn to mark the types of items sold.
Trades Dress
As per the commoners but of a heavier construction. A work apron is worn as needed.
Commoner Dress
A simple wrapped shirt tied at the waist with pants and heavy boots. Colors and patterns are used to mark social rank.
