Appearance
The Murrough are a medium sized semi-aquatic humanoid species. From the waist up is a humanoid torso but below the waist they have a powerful tail ending in a flipper. The head of the Murrough is more elongated than a humans. The eyes are large and dark. The nostrils can flair and will close when under waters. A Murrough will have a full head of hair which they take great pride in caring for. The Murrough have a fine flesh colored body hair. They do not have scales as in popular art, but can sit upright when on land.
Attitude
Murroughs are a very curious species, particularly when near other humanoids. The females tend to be vain and will go to some lengths to attract the attention of humanoid males. The selection is usually based on how closely the other species looks to the Murrough. So a human will be preferred over a Lacerian and a Lacerian over a Saurian or Minotaur. Unfortunately the Murrough are also very competitive and will fight over the hapless male often drowning him in the process, if the male does not stay on his guard. Male Murroughs are less inclined to lure a humanoid female unless she is quite beautiful. If a male does find one they like, they can become obsessed with her and will try to capture her. If the male does capture his desire he will take her to an underwater cavern so she can not escape. Sadly though this passion is often short lived as a male will lose interest after a short while and abandon the female in her cave.
Architecture
Murrough Cities are built in the coastal shallows often next to remote islands. Their structure are often build near water level or slightly above it. Aquatic predators and large waves are kept at bay by a series of channels that require short walks between each one. Those that get to close will encounter armed guards. Building design is open and airy with many platforms exposed to the sun for bathing. An inner chamber is used to sleep and take shelter during bad weather. The walls of the building are very thick and windowless.

Commoner Dress
The Murrough people are not shy about their bodies and are perfectly warm with the short and fine flesh colored hair that covers their bodies. At a distance though it appears they are nude and this will often cause quite a ruckus with new sailors or travelers that happen upon them. While clothing is rarely worn there is often jewelry worn. Arm bands, Torcs and Chokers are most common. Long strands of pearls, coral, turquoise and other semi-precious stones are also common.
